The Working Holiday Visa is the visa most frequently applied for by Australians, New Zealanders and South Africans. The main purpose of this visa permits you to travel to the UK for a holiday of up to two years and obtain paid work for no more than 12 months during your visit, however employment must not be the sole purpose of your visit. To qualify as a Working Holidaymaker you must be able to demonstrate that you are:

- Aged between 17-30 (inclusive)

- Can support yourself in the UK without any help of public funds
- Have not been issued on a previous Working Holiday Visa
- Are single, or that you are married to, or the civil partner of someone who also qualifies as a working holidaymaker and you plan to take the working holiday together
- Do not intend to set yourself up in or run a business, or work as a professional sportsperson during your stay
- Do not have any dependant children aged five or over
- Plan to leave at the end of your holiday
