UK Visas
Unless you hold a UK passport you will need a visa/work permit if you intend to work in the UK.
Below is a list of the most common visas issued to Australians, New Zealanders and South Africans for UK employment. Click on the links to the left to find out more information about the individual visa and how FastrackUK might be able to help you.
Please note: The UK Visa system is currently undergoing major changes. A new points based system is being introduced and applicants wanting to enter the UK will be categorised into five tiers. The first changes come into effect from the 29th February 2008 and apply to the Highly Skilled Migrant Program. In reality highly skilled applicants will experience few changes. The main impact will be that, from after this date candidates on a Working Holidaymaker visa will be unable to switch 'in country' to a HSMP visa.

NEW Biometric Visas
From 4 December 2007 all applicants for a UK visa must have their fingerprint scanned and digital photograph taken as part of the visa application process.
This will take place in your closest British Consulate, which are located in Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. Unfortunately, the biometric scanning appointments are not taking place outside of these consulates at the present moment.
For more information on the new biometric visas click here for the British High Commission's fact sheet.
An important note about your UK visa
The British High Commission's regulations state that your visa can only be issued while you are in your home country. Once your visa has been issued you MUST enter the UK within 3 months otherwise your visa will be invalid. Essentially, this means you cannot travel overseas for more than 3 months prior to entering the UK.
